New Hunting Optics from the 2013 SHOT Show

Because we know how important quality optics are to the hunting enthusiast, we at Petersen's Hunting traveled all the way to the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas to track down the best new optics for the new year. Don't worry, we've got you covered.

Several of the hottest new products came from Zeiss, which introduced the Victory HT and Conquest HD5 scopes and the new Terra scope/binoculars. The Conquest HD5 comes with a rarefied 5x SuperZoom, which Zeiss says is the most advanced in the world. Designed and built in Germany, the new Zeiss line lives up to its rich heritage.

Also new this year was the Bushnell Fusion 1 Mile, a hybrid binocular/laser rangefinder in one. With new matrix display technology, Bushnell was able to provide the clearest, brightest and most true-color hybrid to date in their rangefinder/bino combo.

Bushnell Scout DX 1000

Bushnell introduced its brand new laser rangefinder at the 2013 SHOT Show, the Bushnell Scout DX 1000 Arc. With a range of 1,000 yards reflective, 650 to trees and 350 to deer, the Scout DX 100 Arc features Bushnell's ESP technology, allowing for half-yard accuracy and tenth-yard readouts.

Its Arc technology allows for true horizontal readouts on both bow and rifle modes, offering true horizontal distance out to 99 yards. The Scout DX 1000 Arc will be available in March in black and Realtree camo.

Nikon ProStaff 7

Nikon introduced its brand new ProStaff 7 rangefinder at the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. With ID technology for angle compensation, an enhanced ocular for longer eye relief and a wider field of view, the ProStaff 7 is a hunter\'s dream. The ProStaff 7 ranges from five yards to 600 yards.

Zeiss Conquest HD

Zeiss rolled out a bunch of great new optics at the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, including the new Conquest HD binoculars. Available in 8x42 and 10x42, the Conquest HD binos feature HD lenses for true, natural color in an ergonomic design for exceptional comfort.

The Conquest HD binos also feature Carl Zeiss LotuTec coating for clear vision in any weather.

Zeiss Conquest HD5

Zeiss was at the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas for the launch of the new Conquest HD5 scope, which features SuperZoom technology.

Available in multiple setups, the HD5 scope maintains a low profile in a lightweight body and has a 5x zoom. The lenses on the HD5 are coated with Carl Zeiss LotuTec protective coatings, and it comes standard with 1/4 MOA adjustments for 100 percent repeatability from shot to shot. According to Zeiss, this is the world\'s most advanced SuperZoom scope.

Zeiss Terra

Zeiss was at the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas to launch the new Terra scope. A premium 3x optic with best-in-class image quality, the new Terra comes in three models — 2-7x32, 3-9x42 and 4-12x42. The three options in the Terra line make it a great choice for carrying in heavy brush or for long range shooting.

The Terra is built for versatility and durability, with an extremely compact one-inch design.

Zeiss Terra ED

The new Zeiss Terra ED binos, released at the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, are a hot new item from the German optics maker.

The Zeiss Terra ED binos feature Schott ED Glass with Zeiss MC coating for pure, bright and vivid images even in low light. With 5.25 foot close focus, wide field of view and rapidly smooth focus, the Terra ED binos will never slow you down in the field.

Price: $388 (8x42); $444 (10x42)

Leupold RX-Full Draw Rangefinder

Leupold was at the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas for the launch of the new RX-Full Draw rangefinder, which has several new features for the new year.

The RX-Full Draw comes with a new bow mode good out to 175 yards and line of sight out to 600 yards. The 6mm exit pupil is 50 percent larger than many other rangefinders, and offers 60 percent more light transmission than most models.

Leupold RX-800i DNA Rangefinder

Leupold was at the 2013 SHOT Show in Las Vegas for the launch of the new RX-800i rangefinder with DNA laser technology. With a trophy scale built in, you can digitally assess the monster standing before you.

The RX-800i is also extremely compact and lightweight, so you won\'t waste any space on your next hunt. With a new LCD display and multi-coated optics, the RX-800i offers the most in-class brightness of any rangefinder.

Bushnell Fusion 1 Mile

Tired of carrying around your binos and rangefinder separately? Bushnell has your solution with the new Fusion 1 Mile laser rangefinder/binocular.

Following up on last year\'s model, Bushnell hit one out of the ballpark with the Fusion 1 Mile. The new bino/rangefinder ranges out to one mile, per its namesake, and features matrix display technology for a brighter, clearer and true-color light transmission.

The Fusion 1 Mile will be available in February in 8x32, 10x42 and 12x50.
